Seoraksan travel
An extreme way to take advantage of Seorak Mountain's unexplored scenery is to use the Seorak Cable Car. The cable car deck is located within the small park of Seoraksan National Park and takes about 10 minutes to reach Gwongeumseong Fortress, which is 700m above sea level.
They say you have to pose because you can use the service. Even on an expedition traveling by cable car, you can see Ulsanbawi Rock and Manmulsang through glass windows.
When you reach Gwongeum, you can treat it like the small mountain range of Mt. Seorak. During the Goryeo Dynasty, it became legendary for having built a castle in one day for two clans, Samseong Gwon Geum Seong and Gwon Geum Seong, to discipline the enemy forces.
Now, I continue to reflect on past history. When viewed from the shape of Gwongeumseong Fortress, Seoraksan Mountain has a majestic appearance with its strangely shaped rocks. If you stand at the top, you can capture the entire scenery of Oeseorak.
Just upstairs, the small Jin people from the Silla period and the Muhaksong, which have lived for hundreds of years, can disturb the hardware. , during public holidays or Mura season, it is recommended that minorities celebrate their travel itineraries especially with impressive waiting times.
Fall foliage on Mt. Seorak starts today (30th)...2 days later than normal
Seorak Mountain is divided into Inner Seorak, Outer Seorak, South Seorak, and North Seorak. Inner Seorak refers to Seorak-dong, Cheonbul-dong, etc., and outer Seorak refers to Seorak near Baekdamsa Temple. South Seorak refers to Osaek Mineral Water and Heullimgol, and North Seorak refers to Jinburyeong, Sinseonbong Peak, and Masan Peak.
Among these, the least crowded place is Bukseorak. Bukseorak is the very end of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range and the final destination of the Seorak Mountain trek. The most crowded place in the fall is the entire Seoraksan Mountain area, but not many people know about Masanbong Peak and Majangteo.
The trekking course starts from the Masan parking lot and ends with Byeongpungbawi Rock, Daeganryeong, Majangteo, and Changam Village. It is not a difficult course at about 11km, but it requires walking for about 5 hours, so it is recommended for those who usually walk. The old road from Masanbong to Majangteo is recommended as a good place to walk in October
From silver grass to autumn leaves
The Korea Meteorological Administration (Director Yoo Hee-dong) announced that the first fall foliage on Seoraksan Mountain (1,708m) began on the 30th this year. The start of autumn leaves this year is one day later than last year and two days later than usual.
The beginning of fall foliage is when the entire mountain has changed color by about 20% from the summit, and the peak fall foliage is when about 80% of the fall foliage has changed. The peak fall foliage generally occurs about 20 days after the start of fall foliage.
Autumn leaves generally begin to change color when the daily minimum temperature falls below 5℃, and the timing varies depending on the average minimum temperature, especially after mid-September.
In particular, the average daily minimum temperature since mid-September (September 11-30) in the Sokcho region this year was 18.0℃, which was higher than the average (15.5℃), and also in September (September 1-30) in Seoraksan Mountain. The average daily minimum temperature is 10.6℃, slightly higher than last year's 9.5℃ during the same period, so it appears that fall foliage began a little later than usual.
The Korea Meteorological Administration provides the status of autumn leaves on 21 major famous mountains across the country through 'Weather Nuri'. In particular, photos taken before autumn leaves, at the beginning of autumn leaves, and at the peak of autumn leaves are provided along with maps, so anyone can check out the actual autumn leaves conditions..
